June was born to Richard and Lillian Howorth on June 18, 1926 and passed away on January 15th, 2024. She grew up in Rochester, New York. After graduating from the Genesee Hospital School of Nursing as a Cadet Nurse, she worked as an apprentice Public Health Nurse, Visiting Nurse and School Nurse. In the evenings she attended the University of Rochester to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Health Education, hoping to eventually practice music therapy.
On January 19, 1952, she married Dr. William L. Parry. They were called into service and traveled to Cheyenne, Wyoming during the Korean Conflict. After 2 years in Cheyenne, they returned to Syracuse, New York and bought their first home. June was a Stay-at-Home Mom to their 3 lovely children: Barbara, Marjorie and Richard. She was a Founding Member of a Great Books Group that is still active in Syracuse.
They moved to Oklahoma City in 1962 where they built another home. After the children graduated from High School, June returned to OCU to finish earning a B.A. degree in May 1978.
During her adult years, she served as a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher, lobbyist for the League of Women Voters, President of the OU/Faculty Women's Club, President of the Oklahoma City Orchestra League, President of the Snowmass Mountain Condominium Association and Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Rocky Mountain Trauma Society.
June honored her family with great devotion and loved her Church. She was a certified SCUBA Diver, avid and graceful downhill snow skier, mountain climber, hiker, accomplished tennis player, and in later years enjoyed competitive bridge.

Memorial service will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm CST, with reception to follow in the Courtyard: 4400 N. Shartel Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
