Katherine Ruth Hudak

Katherine Hudak passed away on Monday at the age of 93. She was born on November 4, 1921 to John L. and Bessie Bannon in Oklahoma City. Katherine went to Hawthorne grade school, Taft Junior High and graduated from Classen High School. She went to Hill's Business College and then worked for Richards & Conover Hardware Co. and The Federal Reserve Bank. Katherine was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Church. In early 1948, she met John F. Hudak Jr. at Czech Hall in Yukon, OK. Then married on September 18, 1948 at St. Joseph's Old Cathedral. She and John were both longtime members of the WFLA Lodge 89. This union continued for 57 years until her husband's death in 2005. To this union, a son Francis Lee Hudak was born. Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and one brother. She is survived by her son Francis and wife Diann, grandchildren Carolyn Greenwood and husband Eric, Lisa Hudak, Mary Pape and husband Chad. Great-grandchildren Dylan, Chase and Tessa. Visitation will be held from 9am-7pm on Wednesday at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home (1401 NW 23rd Street, OKC, OK). Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery (2700 N. Shartel Ave., OKC, OK).
