Kathleen (Kay) Flanagan Wasinger passed away Tuesday evening, June 8th, at the age of 90. She was born in Oklahoma City on October 27th, 1919 to George and Kathleen Flanagan and was the oldest of seven children. She attended Benedictine College in Atchison, KS, and it was there she met the man who would become her husband of 64 years, Al Wasinger. Married on June 3rd, 1946, Kay and Al raised six children in Oklahoma City. Kay was a dedicated, stay-at-home Mom and later, a doting grandmother, who loved to cook and always made sure there were cookies ready for the grandkids. She was also one of the founding parishioners of St. Patrick Catholic Church as well as one of the original volunteers to the Oklahoma City chapter of Birth Choice. Kay is survived by her husband Alvin, children Ray and Judy Wasinger, Kathy and Ken McKinney, Bob Wasinger and his partner Joel Ballard, Jerry and Laura Wasinger, Tom and Susan Wasinger, and Bill and Jennifer Wasinger. She also leaves behind grandchildren Elizabeth Wasinger Davis and her husband Bert, John and Casey Wasinger, Anne Wasinger, Camille Wasinger, Rainer Wasinger, Liam Wasinger, Chad and Mary Wasinger, Michelle McKinney Hudson and her husband Greg, their children Katie, Molly, and Noah, Mike and Valerie McKinney, and their daughters Christina and Sarah. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Lou and Ray Ackerman, brother and sister-in-law Stan and Mary Flanagan, brother and sister-in-law Tom and Shirley Flanagan, brother-in-law Dr. Charles Rockwood and wife Jane, and brother-in-law Dave Koppel. In addition, she is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews, and her spiritual family at St. Patrick Church. Kay was predeceased by an infant daughter, her parents, sisters Virginia Koppel and Patsy Rockwood, and brother George Flanagan, Jr. The family would like to thank Nancy and Leroy Rhodes, Javon Herbert, Vickie Hamilton, and the Integris Hospice House for the loving care they provided to Mom in her final days.
