Kathrine Webb Roberts

Kay Webb Roberts passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 89. A memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday February 22, 2025, at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Avenue, OKC.

Kay was born to John Chester Webb and Kate Craven Webb on February 26, 1935, in Dallas, Texas. She was raised in Dallas but spent many summers as a young girl on her father's farm near Garland, Texas. Her father raised horses, and she had horses of her own until she moved to Oklahoma in 1971. Her father owned 5 restaurants in Dallas, and Kay worked for him as well as handled the payroll for all of his employees.

Kay attended college for one year at Lindenwood College for Women before transferring to O.U. where she was active in the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. While at O.U., Kay took off a semester and traveled throughout Europe and the Mideast with her mother. After graduation, she married John Chapman Roberts and from this marriage, they had three children, Alice Roberts Baker (Randy), John Webb Roberts, and Rhett Chapman Roberts.

After raising her children, Kay returned to school and earned a master’s degree in human relations and became a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital, Hope Community Services, and taught DUI school for several years until her retirement.

At the age of 70, Kay learned to ride a 3-wheel motorcycle (a trike) and traveled throughout the United States and Canada - traveling over 90,000 miles on her trike trips. She loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to Africa and the Hudson Bay to see the polar bears.

Kay was a Friend of Bill's for over 46 years, and throughout those years, she was a source of encouragement, support and love to many men and women. She showed them the way to sobriety through her selflessness and her example of a life well lived. She was a blessing to many and will be missed.

Kay was predeceased by her parents and three brothers, Roland Webb, Randolph Webb, and John Webb. She is survived by her children, her daughter-in-law, Jane Roberts, her best friend of many years, Becky McNeese, and her grandchildren, Evan Taylor, Madeline Hill, Margot Renegar (Lewis), Will Roberts, Rush Roberts, Rowan Roberts and Rourke Roberts.
