Kelli Lynne Peck

Kelli Lynne Vaughn Peck was born on April 10th, 1963 in Charleston, West Virginia to James H. Vaughn and Barbara Phillips Vaughn. Her father's occupation required frequent relocation, so Kelli spent a number of her formative years living in different parts of the United States, including West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Oklahoma, California, and Colorado. She even spent two years in Germany. Kelli lived in Oklahoma City during the majority of her school years, attending Dewey Fifth Year Center, Hoover Middle School, and John Marshall High School, creating lifelong and cherished friendships with many of her classmates. At a young age, she had an undeniable sense of adventure and loved to entertain. From the time she was young, her wonderful sense of humor and unconditional love for others, including her friends and family, stayed true throughout her entire life. She was down-to-earth, humble, and always accepting of anyone who needed advice, comfort or a helping hand. Kelli's love of music was unmatched and she greatly enjoyed live music. Kelli's love for animals often led to her possessing a menagerie of pets in her household, including dogs, cats, birds, and even a tarantula. Her greatest joy came from mothering her two daughters, Mallory (b. 8-9-85) and Amanda Peck (3-6-89). In California, she was active in their school activities as a homeroom mother, directing talent shows, and creating a parent information center. In 2000, Kelli moved her little family back to Oklahoma. Her mother, Barbara joined the family in 2007, and she and Kelli became roommates. They continued to care for and support each other in Edmond. On the evening of July 3rd, 2017, Kelli passed away unexpectedly, leaving her loved ones heartbroken. She leaves behind her daughter, Amanda Peck; mother, Barbara Vaughn; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Dirk Halaoui; her nephew, Nathan Halaoui, and niece, Laura Halaoui; as well as many others whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her father, James Vaughn; her daughter, Mallory Peck; and her brother, Tim Vaughn. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Services to celebrate Kelli will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel.
