Coach Kendal (Kenny) Lee Clark passed into eternal life on Thursday September 15th 2022, surrounded by his loving family and in the comfort of his home.Born in Caney, Kansas on December 16, 1956, Kendal was a natural born athlete, excelling at football and basketball. He graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1975 and earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Kendal was inducted into the Caney Valley High School Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020 for his outstanding accomplishments achieved as a football and basketball player. He turned his love of sports into a career of coaching basketball which lasted over 30 years and took him all over the world from Edinburg, Texas to Doha, Qatar. Coach Clark had a major impact on the life of every player he coached. In his incredibly successful career, he coached six Sooner Athletic Conference Championships, five Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Championships and two NAIA National Championship teams at Oklahoma City University.Kendal is preceded in death by his father Robert Clark and his older brother Ronald Clark. He is survived by his mother Shelia (Pat) Clark, his adoring wife of 33 years Debra Clark (van Manen), his daughter Keesie Clark (Angie), his son John Clark (Ashley), his namesake granddaughter, Charlee Clark, and sister-in-law Anne Clark.In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations are made to the National Scleroderma Awareness Foundation. A celebration of Kenny's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at The Hamilton Event Center, 41 NW 144th Circle, Edmond, OK 73013.
