Kenneth Arthur Carter

Kenneth Arthur Carter, 60, passed away at his home Oct. 1, 2016. He was born Sept. 23, 1956 in Watertown, MA, the son of William Arthur and May (Oman) Carter. He grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Joseph P. Keefe Technical School in Framingham, MA, with an emphasis in mechanics. He knew from a young age that he wanted to work in mechanics and in high school won first prize in every competition he entered involving engine diagnostics and repair. After completing his education, Ken opened his own mechanic shop in Ashland, MA, but always wanted to work for Caterpillar. He moved to Dallas, TX, where he worked as a trouble shooter for Caterpillar for 14 years, before the company moved him to Oklahoma City to oversee shop operations and improve performance and efficiency. Ken was later recruited by Peterbilt's Rush Truck Center to be their service manager, where he has worked the past 15 years. Ken loved his family and was a loyal friend. He had many lifelong friends and was always willing to help, even helping strangers. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed attending events with his friends. He enjoyed watching Thunder basketball and football, especially the New England Patriots, and cheering for whomever was playing against his son-in-law's teams. He was also a NASCAR enthusiast and anything motorcycle. He also liked playing golf and fishing. Ken played as hard as he worked. He is survived by two daughters, Kristin Elizabeth Amme and husband Corey, and Sarah Catherine Carter; their mother, Maureen Carter; two brothers, David Carter and wife Maryann, and Richard Carter and wife Theresa; and many nieces, nephews and extended relatives.
