Kenneth Alan Stepp passed away September 10, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather (Pops) and friend.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Volney and Mabel Stepp of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and his grandson Trevor Stephen Stepp of Edmond Oklahoma. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 59 years, Penny Stepp, two sons: Stephen Stepp, wife Patsy and Dennis Stepp; his grandchildren John Paul Brakhage of California and Brandie Elena Rust and husband Dillon Rust; his great grandchildren Mila and Wyatt Rust and Aubrey and Kylie Brakhage.
Kenneth was born in Caney, Kansas and grew up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma where he attended Bartlesville High School. He graduated high school in 1963. He married the love of his life and grade school sweetheart, Penny in 1965. In 1966, he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Vietnam War. He was proud to serve his country in the 9th Infantry Division as well as the 92nd MP Battalion before he was honorably discharged in 1968. After his military service, he and Penny moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Central Oklahoma.
For 49 years, Ken was a Real Estate Appraiser. In 1989, he earned the prestigious certification of Senior Real Estate Appraiser. He was also the City of Edmond Civil Defense Amateur Radio Coordinator and worked closely with the local Edmond Amateur Radio Society during severe weather events to help coordinate weather spotters as they passed critical information along to the news media channels.
Ken was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and all who knew him knew that his most important calling in life was to lead his family in the teachings of Jesus and show others the love of God.
Ken’s family and friends are devastated by Ken’s unexpected loss, but they are so happy in the fact that Ken is now with his Savior.
The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11am at Liberty Baptist Church 1230 N. Sooner Road in Edmond, Oklahoma.
