Kermit Daniel Cole

Danny (Kermit Daniel Cole) was born in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He passed away after a long illness in San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Betty and K. D. Cole. He is survived by his wife, Maureen, and daughter Elizabeth Tracey Cole (grandsons Cole Thompson and Damon Rebelak). He is also survived by brother Joe Don (Margie), and sister Mary Hinkle (Dick) and all their children and grandchildren as well as many cousins. He is very much missed by Chili Bean and Mize. He graduated from Wewoka HS in 1963 and the University of Oklahoma in 1968 with a BA. He then went into the US Army as an MP and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam. He obtained a BSN from the University of Oklahoma in 1976 and went into the US Navy where he served at USNMRC Oakland, California, 1976-1979, then went to USNMRC in Okinawa, Japan, from 1979-1982. He worked at the ER at Oklahoma Children's hospital in 1982 and then the NICU. His last employment was Brooke Army Medical Center in the Short Stay Unit in San Antonio, Texas. He retired in 2002 because of medical issues. He also has a Master's in Applied Computer Science from Illinois State University (1990). He loved his Dachshunds, Greyhound, and Samoyed as well as his grandchildren. His hobbies were golf, bluegrass banjo, and Sudoku. Special thanks to Lacy Buenfil (His provider for 4 years), Arnold, Dr. Hernandez and the rest of the crew at Fresensius Dialysis on Gallery Circle. He misses his bluegrass jam friends in Austin as well.
