Today we honor the remarkable life of Khamphan, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her 80 years of life were filled with resilience, love, and devotion to her family and community. Khamphan peacefully passed at home on November 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Khamphan was born on February 18, 1944, in Vientiane, Laos. She was the daughter of Mr. Keo and Mrs. Bouahong Phommahaxay.
Khamphan married the love of her life, Khoumkham Phimphachan in 1968. In June 1979, they bravely immigrated to the United States in search of a better future for their family. Together they raised three children. She cared for her family with unwavering strength and dedication.
For more than 20 years, Khamphan worked at Carlisle Food Services, where he colleagues admired her work ethic, kindness and determination. Her hard work was a testament to her love for her family and her commitment to giving them every opportunity to thrive.
Khamphan was an active and vibrant member of her community and was proud to be part of the Lao American Association. She found joy in her favorite pastimes like cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time at the Lao Temple.
In 2023, Khmphan was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Even in the face of this challenge, she exhibited incredible grace and courage; inspiring al who knew her.
Khamphan is survived by her five siblings; Khamsiane Liger, Kenekham Srioudom, Bounchanh Senthavong, Khamsing Phommahaxay, and Bouavanh Phrakhamxay, her children; Voradet Phimprachanh and wife Emily Keomanyvong, Virada Sengkhamvilay and husband Chanhome Sengkhamvilay, and Sudavan Phimprachanh and husband Abad Acuna, her grandchildren; Delaney Donaghey-Barr and husband Brendon Barr, Andy Siriphounsavath, Chanda Kimmel and husband Matt Kimmel, Alex Vongphakdy, Brooklyn Phimprachanh, and Ava Sengkhamvilay, and her great grandchildren; Kai, Kenna, and Karsen Barr.
She was predeceased by her husband Khoumkham Phimphachan, her three siblings: Khampiane Rattanavong, Kethpho Phommahaxay, and Khamphiou Souvannavong.
Khamphan’s life is a story of perseverance, family, and community. She touched countless lives with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Rest in peace dearest Khamphan. Your journey, your love, and your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
