Lauren Elizabeth Ridener

Lauren was born February 2, 1982 to Holly and Michael Swanson in Oklahoma City. She was taken from this life too early on October 21, 2015. Lauren grew up in Oklahoma City where she enjoyed gymnastics, softball, dance, swimming and diving. She graduated from Putnam City North High School in 2000. Lauren went on to attend the University of Oklahoma and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Omicron chapter and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with honors, Summa cum Laude. Sooner football was a passion Lauren shared with her mother. She loved attending games and cheering on the crimson and cream. In 2010, Lauren earned her doctorate in psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Lauren worked as a Psychologist at the Oklahoma City VA where she was beloved by staff and patients alike. Lauren married her High School Sweetheart, Russell Carl Ridener, on March 11, 2006. They have two beautiful daughters, Peyton (4) and Skylar (18 months). Anyone who met Lauren, fell in love with her contagious smile and infectious laughter. She was the most genuine, kind, truest person you could have ever had the privilege of knowing. To say she will be missed is truly an understatement. Lauren is preceded in death by her father, Michael, and grandmother, Nadine Harmon. She is survived by her husband, Russell; daughters, Peyton and Skylar; mother, Holly Clifton; brother, Josh Swanson and countless family and friends. Services will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00am. 7336 W. Britton Road, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73132. We would like to thank the nurses and doctors for the amazing care Lauren received in the Mercy Neuro ICU and the OKCPD for the amazing support you have shown our family during this time.
