Laurette Hanna peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on the morning of May 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 13, 1932, in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to Samia and Michael Raheb. Laurette graduated from Central Falls High School and later worked for two of her brothers in their respective businesses for many years.
The ultimate Godly servant, Laurette became the most devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Ellis Hanna, Jr., on July 12, 1967, where they shared their lives together for 49 years until his death. Laurette was the proud mother of two children, Michael Hanna of Dallas, Texas, and Karen Hanna of Oklahoma City.
Her greatest legacy remains her steadfast faith in Christ. A guiding light that inspired everyone she encountered, Laurette began each day with two hours of prayer, faithfully lifting family, friends, and those in need. She embodied the true spirit of Christ’s love and her sincerity touched everyone who knew her.
She was an active member of St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church for 45 years where she served with the Ladies Aid. Her life was a testament to her faith, and she touched countless lives with her compassion and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Laurette is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Sam Raheb and Fredy Raheb, and sister Violet Marcotte. She is survived by her son Michael and wife Mary Jane; her daughter Karen; granddaughters Audrey Hanna of Charlotte, NC and Rachel Hanna of Dallas; and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Ghata for his unending care, love and compassion, as well as Hannah Enu and Christy Mills for caring for Laurette as if she were their own mother.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Flowers That Do Not Wither Fund of St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church.
