Maxine Lennis Massad, 93, was called to her heavenly home Feb. 14, 2016. She was born Oct. 8, 1922 in Featherston, OK. Maxine dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She taught many invaluable life lessons and passed on a great love for cooking and playing cards. She was involved in many civic organizations in Borger, TX and Ponca City, OK and truly enjoyed doing volunteer work. She also loved being a "grandfriend" to many neighborhood children in Ponca City. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Woodrow W. Massad; her parents, Oliy Jo and William Franklin Jennings; great-grandson James Naifeh; her brother and 3 sisters; and many other friends and family. She is survived by her loving children and grandchildren; daughter Linda and husband Dr. Jim Stewart, of Oklahoma City; daughter Lennis and husband Walter Almon, of Anchorage, AK; son Marcus J. Massad and wife Sonya, of San Antonio, TX; granddaughter Stephanie and husband Blair Naifeh; grandson Greg Stewart and fiancée Vanessa Peterson; granddaughter Jennifer Almon; grandson Kyle Massad; granddaughters Paige and Kelly Massad; great-grandchildren Gabriel and Leilah Naifeh; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association. Services will take place Thurs., Feb. 18 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home 14624 N. May Ave. in Oklahoma City. Reception will be at 1 p.m. with funeral following at 2 p.m. Private interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
