Leslie Blair Hanstein passed away at her home December 26, 2016 after suffering complications from a terminal illness.
Born to Wesley and Dorine (Widney) Blair in Ada, Oklahoma on September 10, 1957, Leslie was the blue-eyed, blonde girl her mother had always wanted.
Leslie was proud to be a State Farm Agent and member of the State Farm family for the last 32 years. Karen Powers, close friend and office manager extraordinaire, worked with Leslie for 27 years. Leslie and her family are very grateful to Karen for keeping things going this past year.
Her involvement in the Oklahoma City community was inspirational. Leslie volunteered and supported many causes including Relay for Life, Light the Night, Al-Anon, Canterbury Choral Society, Gay Pride, Habitat for Humanity, St. Luke's Mobile Meals, Salvation Army Bell Ringers, Dress for Success, Free to Live, Rancho Village Mentoring Program, Youth Services, Infant Crisis Services, and Chaine de Rotisseurs. Serving as a member and past-president of the Oklahoma County Bar Auxiliary and a charter member, board member, and officer of Diversity Business Association brought Leslie much joy and many treasured friends. She also supported the study abroad program, numerous school music programs and sports programs.
Preceded in death by parents Wesley and Dorine (Widney) Blair; sister Joani Blair Kellner; cousin Kelli Widney; and Uncle Wilford Widney.
As the result of the death of Leslie's parents, Uncle Wilford Widney along with his wife Darlene, daughter Kandy Wilkinson (Brent), son Kyle (Laura), became Leslie's family.
In addition, Leslie is survived by her family, including loving husband Dr. Mark Hanstein; sister Linda Blair; aunt Darlene; cousins Kandy Wilkinson (Brent), Kyle (Laura), Allison (Tom) and Gretchen (Doug); nieces and nephews Lily and Wesley, Andrya (Thad) and Amy (Shail), Barkley, and Ashtyn and Kamry; Mark's sister Cheryl (Frank) and Mark's children Tanner and Katie Hanstein. She also had numerous groups of Special Gathered Family and too many friends to count!
A special thanks to Kathleen and all the staff of Laura Lynn's Home Health Care and the staff of Integris Hospice, for the excellent care given to Leslie.
