Lillian May Rueb-Wilson (née Graves) passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 12:15 a.m. She is survived by her son Thomas Earl Rueb and preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Clyde and Harry, and her sister Dorothy, as well as her husbands, Charles Rueb and Elzie Wilson. Lillian was born May 27, 1922 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Earl B. and May F. Graves. The Graves moved to Oklahoma City where her father opened a welding and plating shop, built boats, and was involved in the development of Lake Hiwassee, constructing the original marina. A graduate of Classen High School, Lillian was employed as a dental office manager for Drs. Doll and Smith until her retirement. Her true passion was waterskiing and racing hydroplanes, winning first place at many races in her teens. She was one of the original water skiers, attaching tennis shoes to ski boards, participating in the sport until in her mid 70's. Lillian and her first husband Charles Thomas Rueb enjoyed many years of quail hunting and boating at Lake Hiwassee until his passing in 1974. They had one child, Thomas Earl Rueb. She was then married to Elzie Wilson in 1977 until his passing in 2003. A resident of Lake Hiwassee since the 1940s, Lillan was known for her gracious entertaining, quick wit and great sense of humor. She was a loving mother to her son Tom. At the time of her passing, Lillian was a resident of the Legends at Jefferson Gardens retirement community.
