Linda H. Reece

Linda Kay Huper Reece was born March 2, 1945. Her parents were William and Helen Huper. Linda departed this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 2, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Reece, her children, Kimberly A. Kemball-Cook and husband Barry, David A. Reece and wife Leigh, and Elizabeth B. Reece, and her grandchildren, Olivia and Ian Pappas, Reece and Cross Kemball-Cook, and Canon, Holland and Eden Reece. She is also survived by her aunts, Betty Hood and Ellen Collins and uncle Sonny Huper. Linda loved children and served them in many ways. At Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center she was known as the 'Toy Cart Lady' where she pushed a cart of toys to give to the children hospitalized there. She served as President of their Volunteers for a number of years. She was a volunteer and Board member of the CARE Center. She was also involved at Crossings Community Church, the Junior League of Oklahoma City, PEO and many other organizations. As witnessed by the numerous lives of those she has touched, Linda always gave with a cheerful heart (2 Corinth. 9:7). Whether it was an encouraging smile, giving a special gift, or just taking extra time to talk and listen, Linda poured out into so many people's lives. Her passing has resulted in an overwhelming return of love from those who knew her. Her sparkling personality and smile lit up a room when she entered. Her rule was 'It's not what you can do for someone else who can do something for you; It's what you do for someone who can't do anything for you.' Her grandchildren called her "Goodie for her loving spirit and generous heart. She lived her life by taking care of others – her children and grand-children, family and friends, and animals of all kinds.
