Linda Jeanette Cope entered the gates of Heaven Thursday morning, August 13, 2020. Linda was born to Kermit Brown, Sr. and Eleanor Jeanette Brown in Oklahoma City on February 26, 1948. She attended public schools in Oklahoma City, graduating from John Marshall High School. Linda attended Oklahoma State University and received her Bachelor degree in Elementary Education; she was a career educator and retired from Edmond Public Schools in 2010. She loved children and teaching; she was a wonderful teacher who was loved by her students and their parents. Linda was beautiful, witty, charming, fun, and full of grace. Her greatest asset was her faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him devotedly. While worshipping at Crossings Community Church she served in Stephen's Ministry and Women's Prison Ministry. She also faithfully attended many ladies bible studies. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Kermit Brown, Sr. and her mother, Eleanor (Hast) Brown-Clifton. She is survived by her husband, J.E. Cope, who absolutely adored her; her brother, Kermit Brown, Jr. and his wife Renee; Linda's two children: a son, Brandon Boyd and wife Jennifer of Stillwater and daughter, Jennifer Hodgsen and her husband Mario of Seattle, WA. She is also survived by her two grandsons whom she loved so much, Benjamin and Ethan Boyd. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont on Saturday morning, August 22, 2020 at 11:15 a.m. The family will greet visitors at Smith & Kernke N. May from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020. The service will be streamed live at www.fbcpiedmont.org/liveLinda loved flowers.
