Linda Ruth Emerson, 73, of Oklahoma City, passed away March 10, 2019, at Integris Hospice House. Born November 27, 1945 in Oklahoma City, she is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Ruth (Ashinhurst) Lasby, and her late husband Joseph Emerson.
Linda was born and raised in Oklahoma City by her parents Ruth and Dee. She enjoyed family trips, the outdoors, animals and also loved to read. She graduated from Harding Highschool and then attended Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma City College.
She spent over 40 wonderful years with her husband Joe. They enjoyed travel, volunteer work, but most of all spending time with friends & family. This is shown by the lifelong friends she made. They stood by her side, always stopping by to check-in and caring for her until the day she passed.
Linda was a dedicated worker and was revered by all as a problem solver. She worked for Xerox for over 28-years, tirelessly working her way to Service Manager. Her love for volunteer work led to her serving many years on the Board-of-Directors for the Christmas Connection. Linda will always be remembered as a woman of kindness, generosity and a lover of animals.
Linda was a loving mother to her son Mark, and absolutely adored her granddaughter, Avary Jo. Since the day she was born Avary was the center of her world, and the light that shone bright within her heart. Her days with her were filled with laughter and hugs as they played baby dolls, board games and made slime.
She is survived by Mark & Nicole, her granddaughter Avary Emerson, the BOOBS, her loving dog Twinkle, as well as many loving friends and family.
There are no adequate words to describe the support and love Mark, Nicole and Avary received from their extended family during this trying time. We love you all. A special thanks to the staff of 9 East at Integris Hospital as well as Integris Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oklahoma City Humane Society.
