Marilyn Yvonne Mirick (Lisa) passed away at her residence in Savannah, Georgia on November17, 2009, at the age of 47. Lisa was born February 3, 1962, in Pineville, Kentucky to Bobby and Iona Mirick. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1979 and went on to earn her BA in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma in 1991. She worked for KQOB, also known as BOB FM from 2003 to 2006, KRXO from 1989 to 2003 and KATT from 1984 until 1987. Lisa loved to contribute her time and energy to non-profit organizations such as Second Chance Animal Sanctuary and Live Freedom. She was a strong advocate for higher education. Lisa loved reading, gardening, music, movies, walking her dogs, Gus and Teddy. She loved being with her closest friends and family. Lisa is survived by her father Ranger Bobby Mirick of the home; sister, Tammye Lynn Mirick and her children Jennifer Hudson, William Hudson, and Zachary Burt Mirick all of Moore, OK and Natasha Constant of Purcell, OK. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Lee Mirick of Moore and his two daughters, Rochelle Mirick and Micah Mirick both of Oklahoma City. Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Iona Mason Mirick. She was a best friend to many, the "queen of rock and roll radio", and will be loved and missed by all.
