Devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, Lloyd J. Waner, Jr. passed away Feb. 20, 2021 at his home in Amelia Island, Florida. He was born Sept. 27, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA to Frances Mae Snyder and Lloyd Waner. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary Lou Cook Waner.Lloyd served our country in the U.S. Army and later studied at the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor's degree in geology. He became a well-respected geologist working for major oil and gas companies in Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona. Lloyd later founded Crudequest, Inc., an industry leasing company where he worked until his final hours. Colleges have said he was one of the top geologists in the country.Lloyd is survived by his current wife, Lou C. Simmons of Florida; sister, Lydia Freeman; son, Andy Waner; daughters, Elizabeth Waner and Laura Uzzell (spouse Bill); grandchildren, Emma Dorn, Brittney Waner, Shaun Cobb, and Ryan Cobb, and great grandchildren, Harley Warner, Madelynn Cobb, Kori Cobb, and Grayson Cobb; along with many nieces, nephews, his stepchildren and step grandchildren in Florida and a multitude of friends. Lloyd will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City next to Mary Lou.
