Louise Irene Gregory passed into her new life March 6, 2017, following a brief illness. She was born November 14, 1926, in Sarasota, Florida, to Russell G. and Cornelia Rebecca Thomison Davis. Irene earned a Bachelor's Degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and spent her life caring for others as a registered nurse for the VA Hospital. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working word search puzzles and sewing; and even tried her hand at quilting. She is survived by two sons, Russell Alton Gregory and wife Judy of Trenton, Michigan, and Roger L. Gregory and wife Rebecca Anne of Edmond; two sisters, Kathryn Butler and Pearl Wright; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews from all around the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, James L. Gregory; and two brothers, Jack and Dan Davis. The family will receive friends at Smith & Kernke Thursday, March 9 from 5 – 7 pm. The funeral will be Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10 am at Quail Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
