Louise Rodesney, longtime Oklahoma City homemaker, went home to her Lord on November 11, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born to Frank and Dorothy Jane Nolan Brown in Oklahoma City on August 31, 1924 and graduated from John Carroll High School. During WWII she worked at Tinker Field.
Louise married the love of her life, Frank Rodesney of OKC, on July 1, 1944 in Sacred Heart Church, Cambridge, MA, later making their home in Oklahoma City. During 66 years of marriage, they traveled in all 50 states and to some 70 foreign destinations on 5 of the 7 continents. They enjoyed their many friends in the Sooner Dinner Club, Mayfair Club, Revelers Dance Club, Joi De Vie Club, Regency Dance Club and Red Bud Club.
Louise was very active in the Auxiliary to the Oklahoma Society of Professional engineers for almost 45 years, and in the Oklahoma Art League, Ladies Music Club, Third Friday Book Club, Sundowners, and was a charter member of Fashion Oklahoma. She modeled for several downtown clothing stores and would conduct fashion shows for OSPEA. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family. She lived life with pizzazz and was always dressed to the nines. She especially enjoyed making rum pies for family and friends.
She was most proud of their eight children: Marilyn Taylor and husband Jerry; Steven Rodesney and wife Janet; Jeanette Sanford and husband David; Richard Rodesney and wife Christine; Paul Rodesney and wife Suzen; Bruce Rodesney; Doris Schwartz and husband David and Anita Rodesney. Grandchildren are Anthony, Rachel, Nicholas, Christopher, Shayla, Jillian and Alek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mercedes; husband, Frank; and daughter, Anita. The family would like to thank St. Ann's Nursing Home and St. Anthony Hospital Progressive Care Unit for their compassionate care during her final days.
