On Friday, January 26, 2018, heaven gained a generously gracious man, Lucas "Luke" Martin Kellert, 37. He was born on October 20, 1980 to Paul Kellert, Jr. and Emily Reusch in Tulsa, OK. Lucas met Stephanie Nielsen, the love of his life, when he was only 12 year old. Lucas pursued "his girl" for the next 17 years until they were married on May 16, 2009. Lucas' love for his wife was overwhelming and continued to grow even more when they brought two daughters into this world, Lukai (7) and Liev (5).
While most people would say Lucas never met a stranger, his true passion was being home with his family, spending evenings with his girls or poker nights with his brothers. Luke enjoyed entomology, awkward moments, entertaining family and friends, OU Sooner football, story time with his girls, and debating any or all hot topics.
Lucas will be missed by many family and friends, but especially his survivors, including his wife, Stephanie and their two daughters, Lukai Madyx and Liev Evelyn, of Edmond, OK; his brothers, Markus and Paul III, of Tulsa; his sister, Gretchen Presley, of Springtown, TX; his mother and stepfather, Emily and Mike Reusch, of Edmond, OK; his father and stepmother, Paul Jr. and Karie Kellert, of Cleveland, OK; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marty and Dorothy Betz and Paul and Evelyn Kellert.
A time of celebration will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11:00am at the Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73134. Lucas always said, "You should wear white to a funeral to celebrate their life," so all guests are invited to wear white in memory of his love for life. In lieu of flowers, a Paypal account has been set up with a Memorial Fund for his daughters under LucasKellertMemorial@gmail.com.
