Lyle Robert 'Lyle Babe' Babe

Lyle Babe, 85 years, passed away March 16 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Lyle was born Aug. 4, 1928, to Robert and Wilma Babe at Pisgah, Iowa. He grew up in Pisgah and graduated in 1946. In 1948, he married Dorothy Andrews and they made their home in Breda, Iowa where Lyle was a telegrapher for Chicago Northwestern Railroad. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1968 and worked for Transcon Line, retiring in 1990. He is survived by Dorothy, his loving wife of 65 years; 3 sons, Tom (Machiko) of OKC, Rudy (Marilyn) of Breda, Iowa, and John (Kathy) of Broken Arrow; one daughter, Cathy Babe of OKC; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed. Private family Mass will be at St. Eugene Catholic Church.
