Madelon Ann Trammell

A beautiful and bright woman. Faith-filled and full of grace with her daily dedication to the Virgin Mary passed suddenly from this earth on May 10, 2010. Madelon, our caring mother and aunt, was born to James Michael and Madelon Ann Katigan on December 11, 1937 in Oklahoma City. She attended Corpus Christi Catholic grade school and graduated from Catholic High (now Bishop McGuinness) in 1955. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1958 and began her career as an R.N. at Mercy Hospital with a primary focus in cardiology. Married to John Raymond Trammell, M.D. on December 5, 1964, she had two children, Rita Maria and Laura Lee. They later divorced. She volunteered for many years as the school nurse at Christ the King Catholic School and was a life long member of that parish. After working at Mercy Hospital, she later worked for Jean Pitts, M.D., Brook Scott, M.D. Timothy Hauser, M.D.,and Carolyn Corn, MD all of whom she held in the highest esteem. She enjoyed bridge, mastered needlepoint and loved to travel. She retired in 2002 and spent much of her later years with her special friend, John Kilbourne. Through her dedication to the Virgin Mary, Madelon displayed great strength and courage battling various illnesses including breast cancer from which she is a 35 year survivor. She was an elegant entertainer who enjoyed hosting friends and family in her home. She is loved by all who remember her loving smile and kind phone calls. God answered her prayers when her only grandchild, William, was born. She was dedicated to him and all of her children whom she loved dearly. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, James Michael Katigan. She is survived by her daughters Laura Trammell and Rita Trammell Hoch, son in law, William H. Hoch III grandson, William H. Hoch IV; Steven Katigan family; Michelle Butts family; John Kilbourne and Mary and Terry Finley. As she makes her heavenly journey, may His perpetual light shine upon her all her days.
