Marcile V. Horton passed away December 17, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Ok. She was born on April 18, 1919 to Charles and Bessie Vonasek of Sterling, NE, where she resided until her junior year of high school. She then moved to Table Rock, NE with her parents where she graduated Table Rock High School in 1937. Her parents owned a grocery store where she worked for several years. She married Donald Horton in December of 1940. They then moved to Alameda, CA, while Donald was enlisted in the United States Navy. She was a book keeper for Bendix from 1945 until when she retired in 1971. They enjoyed spending their winters in Tucson, Arizona, where Donald took up glass work and Marcile found her talent for painting. They were both active as members and volunteers for Crusaders' Sunday school at Grace United Methodist Church. They also were both active volunteers at Deaconess Hospital and the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Bessie. She is survived by her husband, Donald, of 73 years, nephew, David Bonham of Denver, Colorado, and Nieces; Mary Edwards of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Patricia Ediger of Gering, NE. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church.
