Margaret flew with the angels to her heavenly home on October 14, 2017. She was the only daughter of Monte and Florence Hardwick born on September 3, 1923 in Woodbine, Iowa. She grew up in Council Bluffs, Iowa attending Abraham Lincoln High School where she met her future husband, Ed. After graduating she joined the Waves and served her country from 1944 to 1946 based in Great Lakes, Ill. On February 23, 1946 she married the love of her life Ed Lee. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1949 and soon became a family of four with two daughters being born. Margaret was a true servant of the Lord, always wanting to help her family, her church, her country and her friends. She was known as the ''Banana Bread Lady" Baking loaf after loaf for anyone who passed her way. She also crocheted over 2000 baby hats for St. Anthony Hospital, praying for each new tiny soul who would receive one. She was a charter member of the court of St. Cecilia #1523 Catholic Daughters of America, always proud and grateful for her faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her little brother, "Buddy", her husband and her great grandson, Trevor Allen. She is survived by her two daughters, Kay Brown, husband Gary and Susan Smith, husband Bill: grandchildren, Billy, Jeff, Jennifer, Valerie, Mark and Derek, her great grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Saylor, Jack, Ayden, Addie, Trey, Brody, and Griffin and three great great grandchildren, Aaron, Kingston and Jace. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct.18, 2017 from 5:30 - 7:30 at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct.19, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Joachim Chapel at St. Ann Retirement Center, 7501 W. Britton Road with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
