Margaret May

Margaret May, a long-time resident of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully Saturday the 30th of September at Integris Hospice Home after a long struggle with Parkinson disease. Throughout her battle, she was surrounded by her family and many friends. Margaret was born July 31st, 1935 in Minco, Oklahoma, to Earnest and Mildred Howey, where she grew up on a farm with a big loving family. She attended Minco Schools and graduated in 1953. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Robert May, and the two were married in Oklahoma City. This union produced four children who were the center of their lives. Margaret was a homemaker while her children were young and then she began a career with JC Penney's at Shepherd Mall. She managed the Catalogue Department and retired after 31 years of dedicated service. What people will remember most about Margaret was her big heart and that she never had a bad word to say about anybody. She doted on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and taught them the values of family, respect, and being kind to others. She was an excellent cook and many great memories were made around her table. Her priority in life, and her pride and joy, was her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother and sister. She is survived by her four children, Robert Jr., Karen, Ronald, and Randy, all of Oklahoma City; five grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Michael Garrett, Kathryne and husband Josh Van Stavern, Ryan May, Andrew and Brandon May and their mother Hermelita, and two great grandchildren, Gavin and Alivia Garrett, all of whom she loved dearly. Memorial gifts may be made to the Parkinson Foundation of Oklahoma at the request of the family.
