Peg passed away peacefully on Wed. Jan. 15, 2020. She was born in Springfield, MA and would later call Evanston, Illinois her home. She was pre-ceded in death by her parents, Russell Ragan and Josephine Ragan, her brother, Robert Ragan, and her son-in-law, Michael Ryan. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ken; her children: Leslie Hughes-Lind (Jon), Marcie Boughton (Kent), and Dr. Kenneth "Tad" Hughes III (Dawn); her grandchildren: Will Ryan (Chelsea), Michael Lind, Taylor Hughes, Bailey Ryan (Liz), Alex Lind, and Sam Hughes. Some of Peg's more memorable years were at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN where she met the love of her life, Ken. They were married on July 4, 1953. They were the original "dynamic duo" and were well known for creating roaring laughter to all. They settled in OKC where they raised their three children. Peg always had a place in her heart in support of newcomers and strangers. Her empathy for others was a big part of her personality. Peg never met a stranger and was quick to tell a joke (appropriate or not) that would usually leave people with a smile and a laugh (as she would often laugh harder than anyone)! She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Peg's Kappa life was a major influence in her life; she remained active for over 70 years. She was also active in the community; she was a devoted member and past President of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Assoc., PEO, member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, and more recently Crossings Community Church. Peg was also a long time volunteer at Mercy Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend that will certainly be missed. A memorial service will be at Crossings Comm. Church Chapel Sat. Feb. 15th at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossings Church Community Clinic.
