Maria Hargis-Bowen

Maria Hargis-Bowen died January 4 after a courageous battle with cancer. Maria was born November 12, 1963, in Memphis, TN to Roland Paul and Edwina Hargis. She was the youngest of their seven children. Maria grew up in Memphis, EI Dorado, AR, Oklahoma City and Richardson, TX before moving back to Oklahoma City, where she met the love of her life. She married Scott Bowen in 2012. Maria worked in the banking community and was most recently employed at Mid-First Bank. Maria was passionate about golf and was a board member of the Business Women's Golf Association. Maria was preceded in death by her father. Maria is survived by her mother Edwina Hargis, her husband Scott Bowen, her brothers Paul, Steve, Larry and Matt Hargis, her sisters Ginny Messner and Lee Ann Brooks, and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends, especially those who were willing to join her for a round of golf. A Rosary will be held Thursday, January 8 at 10:30 at St. Eugene Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00.
