Marian Miller died peacefully at home on January 11, 2015, with her husband at her side. She was born February 13, 1932 in Wewoka, Ok, to Doris (Campbell) and Harvey Bruce Turner. She grew up in Fittstown, OK, graduated from McLish High School and received her BA from East Central University.
She attended graduate school at Perkins School of Theology, SMU where she met her husband of 59
years, G. Dean Miller. They married June 5, 1955.
Marian was a dedicated wife of a United Methodist clergyman and served in the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church for 40 years. During that time Marian worked as a social worker and an auditor of nursing homes for the Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services, in addition to raising her family. She loved to read and enjoyed researching and compiling her families' genealogy, publishing 3 genealogy books.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Miller of Oklahoma City, son Bruce and wife Kristen of Barstow, CA, daughter Cindy and husband Rob Nelson of Edmond, Oklahoma, sister Clara Jean Pevehouse of Norman, Oklahoma, and grandchildren Alyssa Nelson, Austin Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Adam Miller, Kolton Miller and Emily Miller. Additionally, she will be missed by her brothers-in-law Bill Miller of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Don Adams of Tulsa, Okla., and many adoring nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held February 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Quail Springs United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Quail Springs United Methodist Church.
