Marianne Merrick Bachman joined her beloved Lord on June 12, 2015.
Marianne was born on December 14, 1932, to RA and Valda Brown in Throckmorton, TX. She married Ward S. Merrick Jr. on March 24, 1951 and she moved to Ardmore, OK. She is survived by her husband Robert Bachman, her four children and spouses, Ward S. and Linda Merrick, Seminole, TX, Jerry and Valda Buchanan Tulsa, Frank and Debbi Merrick, Oklahoma City, Robert and Kellie Merrick, Oklahoma City, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and her brother Rob Brown.
Marianne and Ward were blessed in 1979 when they adopted a family from Vietnam. She loved them dearly and they held a special place in her heart.
Marianne loved the Lord with great zeal and actively served in every church she attended. Her walk with God and her prayer life was an inspiration. Bible Study Fellowship and the First Presbyterian, Edmond, greatly impacted her life. She touched the lives of everyone she knew, whether from a brief encounter or a life long friendship. She served as a caregiver, with great joy. She had the gift of hospitality and could sure tell a good story! She loved to garden and could make any yard beautiful. After Ward Merrick's death in 1999, she moved to Marble Falls and reunited with Bob Bachman. Bob was her first date in the seventh grade. They married in 2001 and she moved to Graham TX. Bob has three children Roberta Mango, Warren Bachman, and JoAnn Bachman. Marianne loved her new extended family. A few years later she and Bob moved to Edmond.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held June 18, 2015, at 11:00 am First Presbyterian Church of Edmond, 1001 South Rankin Street Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Infant Crisis Center, 4224 N Lincoln Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK, 73105 or the charity of your choice.
