She loved to apply her artistic talents to home decorating. She was a mentor to many young girls and women about table settings, and how to entertain. She was always ready to travel to see interesting sites. She was Frontier Hospice volunteer for the past 5 years, visiting home-bound patients, and also working in the office. In addition, she was nominated for the Andrus Volunteer of the Year award, sponsored by AARP. Even in her 90's, she was an active volunteer. Marianne was a member of Olivet Baptist Church and later, Nichols Hills Baptist Church. She was a member of The American Glass Club, LeMidi Book Club, Dixie Chapter of UDC, and charter member of Col. John Starke Chapter of DAR. Throughout her many endeavors, Mrs. Harris embodied grace, intelligence, warmth and compassion. She loved gardening, collecting china and crystal, beautiful sunsets, reading, and commited to learning something new every day.
