Maribeth Walters passed away April 22, 2010. She was born March 28, 1919 in Bushnell, Illinois to Reginald and Jessica Truman. She met Rex in Peoria, Ill. while she was attending nursing school at Methodist Hospital. They married in Baltimore, MD on December 19, 1943. After moving to Oklahoma City she was a nurse for Dr. George Garrison and later at Presbyterian Hospital. After retiring, Maribeth worked with Rex in their family business. Maribeth was an active member of Crown Heights Christian Church where she served as deaconess and was involved in Christian Women's Fellowship. She and Rex helped start the Homemakers Sunday School class, and were on the board of Oklahoma Christian Home. The friends she made in her "sewing club" were an important part of her life. She enjoyed traveling and playing Bridge. She is survived by her son Dale and wife Elaine of Houston and son John and wife Marilyn of Edmond, her grandchildren, Karen and Julie Walters, Lyle and Zachary Walters, Eric Plumlee and wife Sema and Brooke Plumlee, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Rex, her husband of 59 years, and her only sibling Jessica Reed who died on April 8, 2010.
