Marilynne Marie Creed passed away on February 3, 2022, with her daughters by her side. Marilynne was born to Marion and Minnie Saulsberry on August 6, 1929, in Chandler, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from Chandler High School, she headed out west to Los Angeles, California where she met the love of her life, James Creed. They were married on March 31, 1950, in Huntington Park, California. They relocated to Arkansas for a short time before returning to her home state of Oklahoma. Marilynne and James raised their four children Janice, Stanley, Marti and Michele in Del City, OK. They later retired to an acreage north of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Marilynne was a beloved wife, mother, sister, Mema, aunt, mother-in-law and friend. She was very actively involved with her children's education and volunteered year after year in the school PTA. She loved so many things in life but what she loved most was her family. She was always there for her family. She was an incredibly strong and determined individual who taught her children and grandchildren that they could do anything they set their minds to. She was always busy doing something. She was hilarious, outspoken, opinionated, and silly. She was able to make anyone laugh and was loved by all. She loved to sing and dance especially enjoying performing for her good friend, Gerald Grimes. We will all cherish her calls on our birthdays with her rendition of Happy Birthday.She is preceded in death by her husband James, daughter, Janice Jones and son, Stanley Creed. She is also preceded in death by her mother, father and all nine of her siblings. She is survived by her two daughters, Marti Hamer, OKC, OK and Michele Bentley of Orlando, FL. ; son-in-law Jeff Bentley, five precious granddaughters: Caroline Bogema, Christine Hoffman, Sarah Jones, Madison Bentley and Jordan Bentley. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren she loved dearly; Noah, Jacob, Jullian, Madelyn and Kaleb as well as numerous extended family and friends. A memorial service will take place in March. More details will be forthcoming.
