Mark Hollingshead, age 66, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022. Mark was born in Oklahoma City on February 3, 1956, to Charles and Nora Hollingshead, oldest of 4 boys. He graduated from US Grant High School in 1974 and received a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1978. He extended his senior year at OU to December so he could have 50-yard line tickets for a second season of football. He was forever an OU fan and had season tickets for 46 years, sharing his love with his kids. Mark started his 38-year career with OG&E in Shawnee, OK, then in OKC at Belle Isle, North District. He served as Telecommunications Manager before his final assignment as Substation Design Engineer, retiring in April 2016. Mark and Teena Ball Hollingshead were married in July 1980. They enjoyed many trips to National Parks throughout the years, but not as many as they hoped. They were blessed with son, Eric James and daughter, Carey Ann. Mark spent many years in scouting. He attained his Eagle Scout, served as the Scout Master of Troop 146, and received the Silver Beaver recognizing his service to scouts. Mark fought valiantly for almost 6 years against the cancer that took his life. We are forever grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Integris Cancer Institute; especially, Dr. Johnny McMinn, nurse Barbara, and all of the infusion nurses. Mark is survived by his wife of 41 years, Teena of OKC; son, Eric Hollingshead of Yukon; daughter, Carey Hollingshead of OKC; brothers, Neal Hollingshead of OKC and Bruce Hollingshead of Moore; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Charles and Nora Hollingshead and brother, Barry Hollingshead. Viewing will be Friday, February 11 from 10am -7pm with family present from 5pm-7pm at Smith and Kernke North May. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 12 at 1pm at Christ the King Catholic Church followed by burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
