Martin Joseph Rizzo

Martin Joseph Rizzo was born on May 7, 1959, in Huntington, Long Island, New York to Frank Joseph Rizzo and Rose Marie Rizzo. He was named after his grandfathers, Martin Rizzo and Joseph Chiaffitelli, both of whom preceded him in death. Martin grew up in Huntington and followed his sister, Jan, to Norman, Oklahoma. He graduated from Norman High School in 1977 and then attended the University of Oklahoma where he studied natural gas and oil leasing.

Martin was an entrepreneur at heart. He started, managed, and maintained numerous successful businesses throughout his life. From sailing to digital printing, Martin’s entrepreneurial intuition led him to many successful ventures.

In 1983, Martin was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. During this period of time, Lymphoma treatment was still being developed. Martin’s legacy was that he underwent experimental treatment that was successful and became instrumental in saving the lives of many future cancer patients.

He loved life, adventure, his toys, the water and his family.

Martin is survived by his wife, Victoria Rizzo, son Chase Rizzo, grandson, Dante Rizzo, sister, Jan Farrell, stepson Briston Lowry and wife Kim, stepdaughter Analese Fournier and husband Cameron, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and step grandchildren.
