Marvin Robert "Bud" Norman

Marvin Robert "Bud" Norman was born in Ennis, Texas to M. E. and Pauline Norman. He grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado and after high school graduation there, he proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp. Following his military commitment, Bud met and married the love of his life, Shari Lyn Noah. Shari and Bud moved to Colorado Springs where Bud began his career selling insurance. Early in his career with American National Insurance Company he also delivered mail. Later the family moved to Galveston, Texas and eventually made Oklahoma City their home in 1974. After moving to Edmond, he enjoyed spending time playing with his great-grandchildren. Bud had many interests including traveling, painting and he was an avid car enthusiast. While living in Galveston, Bud had an impressive antique car collection. In the 90's Bud was president of the Mercedes Club. He was also a member of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. He will be remembered for his kindness and generous nature. Bud valued the love of his family and the time spent with them above all else. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mike. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shari Norman of the home; daughter, Shelly Lasenberry of Blanchard, OK; granddaughter, Stephanie Peetoom and husband W.A. of Stillwater, OK; grandson, Lawrence Lasenberry and wife Allison of Ardmore, OK as well as seven great-grandchildren and many close friends. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. Graveside services will follow on Saturday in Alva Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Contributions may be made in Bud's memory to the Boys Ranch Town c/o Baptist Homes for Children, 3800 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112, the Children's Center, 6800 NW Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008, or to The Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave, Nebraska City, NE 68410.
