Mary Alice Hines-Jones

Mary Alice, 89, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, July 10, 2017. MA as she was known by family and friends was born on January 8, 1928 to James and Jesse Archer in Oklahoma City. She was married for 36 years to Harold "Scooter" Hines of OKC and then later in life to Grant E Jones of Palm Springs, CA. Known for her perfect coral lips and nails, beautiful blond hair, and gorgeous blue eyes this tiny little woman was a force to be reckoned with! She was a champion golfer, fabulous tennis player, winning card shark and an avid sports fan! In 1971, Mary Alice was crowned Women's Oklahoma Golf Association State Amateur Champion and could still swing a club better than most! She and Scooter were charter members of Quail Creek Country Club and she maintained that membership for 50+ years. "Fun and Feisty" is one of the best descriptions used to describe our precious mother! MA was a lab tech for over 30 years, and a very involved mother to all three of her and Scooter's children. MA was a very proud Sooner, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 where she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. MA's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Jaime Hines; her two sons, Carter Hines and wife, Sheryl and David and wife, Robin.; her grandchildren, Heather (Rommel) Lopez, Amy (Daniel) Fair, Taylor (Meika) Hines, Kassie Hines Carrasco, Megan Hines, Chris Divis and Lindsey Divis, Jason Hines, Brandon Hines and Rachel Hines; her great grandchildren, Marcus and Malakai Lopez; Kyley and Kamryn Curry and Cage Fair; Jude, Vivienne, Violet and Stella Hines; and Hunter Serlo. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 12 Noon at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N. May Ave. A Celebration Reception of MA's life will immediately follow at Quail Creek Country Club, 3501 Quail Creek Rd, 405-751-0811.
