Mary Alice White

Mary Alice White passed away peacefully in her home in Edmond amongst family on April 19, 2019, at the age of 88. She was born Oct. 28, 1930 in Wichita, KS, to A.G. and Mary Powers Hutchinson. The family moved to Santa Ana, CA where Mary and her sister Shirley were raised. After high school and community college, she moved to Long Branch, NJ where she was a secretary at Ft. Monmouth. They moved to Oklahoma City where he was employed by Southwestern Bell and she worked as a secretary for Westinghouse. They had three children and she became a full-time mother - always caring for and putting her children first. There were many moves through the years and she provided a safe and loving home wherever they lived. After moving to OKC, she became involved in Bible Study Fellowship where she served as a leader for many years. It was an important part of her life, and she made lasting friendships as a result. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert White of Edmond; her daughter, Debbie Brown and husband Monte of McAlester, OK; her two sons Steve and wife Julie, and Richard and wife Sherri all of Springfield, MO; her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be at Smith & Kernke N. May Wednesday from 10am - 7pm. The funeral will be Thursday, April 25 at 2pm at Smith & Kernke N. May Chapel. Burial will be Saturday in Highlandville, MO.
