Mary Rose Chiaffitelli

Mary Chiaffitelli passed away on September 30, 2024 in Oklahoma City surrounded by family. She was 89 years old.

Mary was born on April 16, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony and Frances Gisone. After high school, she married the love of her life, Joe, on October 29, 1955. They moved to Oklahoma in 1978. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and her family meant everything to her. She was your typical Italian grandmother known for her entertaining skills and her cooking, in particular, her pasta sauce and stuffed mushrooms. It is difficult to leave her house without being fed first, whether it is a quick sandwich or a Nutter Butter cookie! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joe as well as her parents. 

She is survived by her sons, John (and family) and Michael (and daughter Jessica), her sister Rose Ebert of NY, as well as many nieces and nephews. 

Special thanks to Judy and Scott Batchelor whose friendship Mary cherished, and her niece, Jean Murphy, who was always ready to lend a hand and offer companionship.

Visitation will be at Smith and Kernke Funeral Home on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 12-6pm with family present from 4-6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Eugene Catholic Church on Monday October 7, 2024 at 10:30am.
