Mary Colleen Blume was born January 3, 1933 in Wichita, Kansas to Fred and Mae (Ketchum) Blume. She was the youngest of three children. She left this world at 5AM, April 19th, 2014 in the arms of God's Angels. She attended twelve years of school at St. Mary's Cathedral and completed a Bachelor's Degree in History at St. Mary's College in Leavenworth, KS. She joined the US Marine Corps in 1963 attained the rank of Captain. While in the USMC she completed a Master's Certificate in Computer Sciences at the American University, Washington, DC. She was Systems Analyst and Programmer. She implemented the first computer-aided inventory management program in the USMC. She resigned her commission in 1972 and began traveling Europe to lecture as a missionary. Mary was fluent in Spanish, Italian and Latin. She returned home to complete a Master's Degree in Theology at the Washington Theological Union in Washington, DC, writing her thesis entitled, ''Women Prophets of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures''. Mary was also a lay minister in Missionaries of the Kingship of Christ, a Secular Institute. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1997 to assist her friend Elsa and began writing a weekly article in the newsletter of Epiphany of The Lord Catholic Church. She is survived by her older brother Daniel Blume, Eugene, OR. She is preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Patricia Dugas and her dearest friend Elsa Farman. Memorial service will be held for Mary at 10 AM on May 3, 2014 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 2121 N. Portland Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
