Mary Lou Semtner Cozzens, beloved Mother, passed away Mar 9, 2025.
Her funeral Mass will be held Thu, Mar 20th, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Oklahoma City, at 10:30 AM.
Mary Lou was born on Dec 29th,1933 in Oklahoma City, OK, the elder child of Albert and Dorothy (nee Erler) Semtner. Mary Lou attended Rosary School in Oklahoma City, and then Highland Park High School in Dallas before graduating from Classen High School in Oklahoma City. She attended Randolph-Macon College in Virginia, and graduated with Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, from OU, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
She founded and ran Emlou Boutique in the former Century Center Mall for many years. She spent significant time along with her husband supporting the revitalization of Automobile Alley in Bricktown. She was also active in the OKC arts community, assisting Lyric Theater and Carpenter Square Theater as a member of the Board and volunteer.
Mary Lou spent over 30 years as a board member, leader, coordinator, and volunteer for many groups including Ronald McDonald House and Charities, Youth for Understanding, and RSVP. Mary Lou's contributions earned her an award for State of Oklahoma Volunteer of the Year in 2014.
Mary Lou was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Husband, Bill Cozzens, Sr. and survived by her six children, Bill Cozzens Jr, of Vancouver, WA, Alyssa Lutz and Bartholomew Cozzens, of Oklahoma City, Chris Cozzens of Aldie, VA, Derek Cozzens of Boulder, CO, and Heather Cozzens of Oakland, CA, along with 8 grandchildren, Ricky and Summer Lutz, Lexi, Devin, Leo, Isabella, Cole, and Kate Cozzens.
