Fong, Mary E., 93, born July 25, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Fine Eng, first generation Chinese immigrants, passed away on December 22, 2018. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, and grandmother. She moved to Oklahoma in 1952 with her husband George Fong where they became well known restaurateurs, owning or participating in several restaurants in the Oklahoma City area and Tulsa. Their first business was the Golden Pheasant Chinese Restaurant. However, they were best remembered for being the congenial hosts and owners of the former Hoe Sai Gai Chinese Restaurant in Oklahoma City.
Mary was also a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church. She was an extremely generous, caring, loving and hardworking individual. She was very passionate about her faith and until she was physically unable to do so, she was very involved in many of the activities held at her church.
Mary is survived by her children, Michael Fong, and children Kendall and Jade; Candace Hottle, and her husband Vandon Hottle and their son Derek Hottle; Laurie Fong and her husband Steven Nielsen, and their children, Nicholas Nielsen and Megan Nielsen; as well as the family of Kenneth Fong, deceased, whom she raised, to include: Angela Fong, Winston Fong, and daughters, Madi and Vivienne; and Nelson Fong, his wife Erin Fong, and their sons, Hudson and Parker.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at Smith & Kernke on Thursday, December 27, 2018, until 7:00 p.m.
