Mary Jon Holder-Cagle passed away peacefully in Oklahoma City. She was born in Lindsay, OK to Tacoa and John W. Cates. Mary attended Oklahoma State University, majoring in Business Administration. After the war broke out, she returned to Lindsay to work in her brother-in-law's bank. Soon after, she met a "tall, dark and handsome" air force pilot named John. Mary left Oklahoma at 21, bound for Florida to marry this young man. They spent 50 glorious years together, producing three children and seven grandchildren. John passed away in 1996. Five years later she was fortunate to have Ken Cagle come into her life, bringing with him his daughter, Ann and son, John. They both lived happily at Epworth until Ken's passing in August 2009. Mary's faith was very important to her. She has been a member of the Methodist Church since she was a little girl. Mary wanted to be remembered as a "happy person who enjoyed a full life of loving her family." Mary remarked, many times that she "would not change a thing in her life if she had it to do all over again." She developed her wonderful sense of humor growing up in a large family, who valued friendship and honored their love for each other. Being the wife of a pilot, Mary and her children were stationed in many different countries, offering her the opportunity to make close and long lasting friendships worldwide. She cherished her many friendships she made at Epworth, including the supportive and kind staff members. Mary left behind her three children, Ben, and his wife, Teresa, LeaAnn, and Cindy Claire as well as seven grandchildren, Cheyenne, Crystal, Erin, Lukas, Ben, Elora and Caleb. Mary's inner light will continue to shine through all the lives she touched.
