Mary Louise (Specht) Johnson, age 97, passed away on March 15, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary was born on February 25, 1918 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Louis F. and Bertha C. (Whelan) Specht. On Oct 18, 1945 Mary was united in marriage to Leamon S. Johnson. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Leamon S. Johnson; brother, Eugene Specht; sister, Virginia (Specht) Straughn and parents Louis and Bertha (Whelan) Specht. Mary will be dearly missed by her nephews, Fred L. Straughn and Linda of Granbury, Texas: Robert L. Straughn and Debbie of Oklahoma City, James P. Straughn & Karel of Nashville, Tennessee, and great nephews, Chris, Jonathan, and David Straughn, great nieces, Jamie Straughn Buemi and Shannon Straughn. As a youth, Mary attended school in Piedmont, Oklahoma. She graduated from Piedmont High School & went on to attend Business School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary worked for the IRS in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the majority of her career. She loved OU football, travel, bridge, ceramics, and her family. Mary was always interested in her nephews, their sporting events and later their extended families. Mary was a long time member of St. Patricks Catholic Church. There will be visitation from 10 am to 6 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home. An Evening prayer service will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Smith & Kernke Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, March 20, 2015 at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel.
