Mary Louise "Cherry" Harroz, 82, died on Dec. 6, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. Cherry was born on Feb. 28, 1929 in Wichita, KS to A.C. and Osie (Adams) Addis. Cherry was coined her name by her Father when she was a little girl because of her rosey cheeks. She married the love of her life, Nick Harroz, Jr., in June of 1949 who thought she was the prize of Wichita. She worked side by side with her husband to build a family business known as Crest Foods. She was a lifelong member of St. Elijah Orthodox Christian Church. Next to her husband Nick, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was devastated by her son, Gary's, tragic accident in 1982. Cherry loved life. She was always dressed to the 9's. She made sure all family members were also dressed impeccably. She loved just being with her family and friends. Nick and Cherry moved to Edmond after living in Midwest City for over 50 years. She was a good cook in her day. Cherry spent many hours trying to beat Nick at gin rummy. Cherry was small in stature, but remember that dynamite comes in small packages. Cherry is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Don and Jack Addis; sister, Ruth Albert; and son, Gary W. Harroz. She is survived by her husband, Nick; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Tina Harroz of Edmond; daughter and son-in-law, Sydney and Michael (Mickey) Homsey; sister, Charlotte Jabara of Wichita; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dr. Joe and Mary Ann Harroz; sister-in-law, Dorothy Harroz; grandchildren, Nicholas and Keegan Harroz III, Nick and Christina Duthie, V. Rev. John and Valerie Salem, Sammy and Dini Homsey, Meagan Homsey, Briana and Cole Harroz; great-grandchildren, Michael and Christina Salem, Nate Duthie, Zeina Homsey; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. We want to thank all of the staff at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Nasr and all the caregivers for their loving and caring help over the last few years. Visitation will be held from 9a.m.- 5p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 8, 2011 at Smith and Kernke Chapel followed by a 7p.m. Trisagion Service at St. Elijah Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church.
