Mary Lynn Leedy ("Lynn") passed peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on July 2, 2021 in her hometown of Oklahoma City. Lynn was born January 25, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to J. Walter Duncan Jr. and Ann Louise Burke. She is survived by her beloved children Bradley Burke Leedy and Sarah Lynn Dooley (and David), granddaughters Bailey Paulson (and Devin), Isley Kate Leedy, Mary Elizabeth Leedy and her brother Nicholas Vincent Duncan (and Peggy) and sister, Elizabeth Burke Lewis. She was predeceased by her brother J. Walter Duncan III, and her sister Barbara Ann Covington.Lynn's family moved to Oklahoma City prior to Lynn attending kindergarten. Lynn attended Christ the King School and Bishop McGuinness High School. After completing her studies, her entrepreneurial spirit manifested itself in her first business venture when she founded Ski-Haus Sports in Oklahoma City in the mid-1970's. Lynn also took a leadership role at the family hotel in Jensen Beach, Florida. Lynn's wonderful sense of design and style manifested itself in her latest venture, Lynn Leedy Interiors, formed in the late 90's. Her daughter Sarah shares her talent, and operates Leedy Interiors to this day.Lynn's contributions to the community went well beyond her business ventures. A breast cancer survivor herself, she became very active in the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, eventually becoming the chapter president. Lynn's faith was unshakable and she was a very proud and active member of Britton Christian Church.Lynn's children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She spent countless hours planning and creating memories for them. She particularly loved to plan family vacations in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, where she spent her summers as a child. Horses however were her life's passion. She found her love for horses at the age of four at Had-Well Stables in Nichols Hills. She became an accomplished horsewoman widely respected for her business sense and riding ability. Lynn earned multiple world championships across a variety of equestrian disciples, including her first at the age of nine. She owned some of the industry's finest sires and competitors including Cock Robin, Dandy Zippo and So Dang Lazy.A funeral service will be held at Britton Christian Church at 10am on July 20, 2021, with burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In leu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be sent to Britton Christian Church or The King's Klinic both located at 922 N.W. 91st St. Oklahoma City, OK 73114.
