Mary Margaret English Frier was born May 29, 1918 to William I. English, Sr. and Sarah Margaret Shea English in Plattsburg, MO. She passed peacefully on November 25, 2015. A lifelong Catholic, Margaret was a devoted daughter, sister, wife and aunt. The family moved to Dallas, TX, in the 1920s and then moved to Oklahoma City in 1931. Graduating from St. Joseph's School in 1936, Margaret attended Hill's Business College. Her first job was with the John E. Wolf Advertising Company and during World War II; she trained as an American Red Cross nurse's aide. In 1945, Margaret went to work in Medical Record and Medical Transcription at St. Anthony Hospital. She retired in 1989. She was married on August 12, 1959 to William Joseph Frier. Margaret and Bill enjoyed 43 years of marriage until his death in 2002. They were active members of Christ the King Catholic Church. She and Bill regularly attended annual reunions of the China-Burma-India-Hump Pilots Association. Margaret moved to St. Ann Retirement Center shortly after Bill's death. She was especially appreciative of the friendship of Laura Lindo and Carol Walker and the exceptional care she received from the staff at St. Ann Nursing Home in her last years. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was also predeceased by seven siblings, William English, Georgiana English O'Brien, Minnie Josephine English Ruddy, Helen Louise English Adams, James Michael English, Nadine Marie English Adams and Bobby Thomas English. She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Ann Nursing Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, and interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
