Mary Jo Spears

Mary Jo Spears was born on June 29, 1935, in Versailles, Kentucky to James and Edna Daugherty and passed away on November 14, 2024, in Oklahoma City. Mary Jo graduated from Lexington Catholic High School and went on to have distinguished career in public service, having retired from the Oklahoma State Senate after a lengthy tenure.

Mary Jo is survived by her son Jeffrey Spears and daughter-in-law Andrea Spears. She is also survived by her siblings: Cathy Daugherty, Doc Daugherty, and sister-in-law Arlene Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Spears, and her parents, James and Edna Daugherty.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Jo's caretakers' Adrianna and Gwen.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 20 at St. Eugene Catholic Church starting at 10 a.m.
